There is a grinding wheel captivated on both sides of the motor. The wheel is made up of abrasive material. As you press material up against the wheel small amounts of material get removed and begin to cut away the metal surface. The wheels spins at 3600 RPM so remember to always work on the lower portion of the wheel and never hold any parts so the edges can catch on the wheel. Never wear gloves while using rotating equipment.
